Security

Prime Minister HarperOn June 16, 2006 Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced new measures to enhance the safety of Canadians including the allocation of $26 million over two years for air cargo security initiatives designed to enhance existing air cargo security measures. These initiatives include measures to ensure the integrity of air cargo security throughout the supply chain, as well as the evaluation of screening technologies.

Cargojet fully supports these initiatives and will work with Transport Canada, CATSA (Canadian Air Transport Security Authority), the CAC (Canadian Airports Council) and other stakeholders in the industry to identify, develop and implement continued enhancements to air cargo security.

Cargojet has also developed and implemented the Cargojet Safety Management System and developed a company policy and culture that is committed to the philosophy of creating a safe working environment for all employees.

Cargojet has adopted the ISO 9001-2000 quality management system and has successfully been certified to this quality level for the sixth consecutive year. Cargojet is the only air cargo carrier in Canada with this accreditation.
