Leading Canadian Air Cargo Carrier to Integrate Financials and Reduce Costs With
SAP® Business All-in-One Solutions
TORONTO — May 26, 2009 — SAP Canada Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), today announced that Cargojet Income Fund (Cargojet) (TSX: CJT.UN) will implement SAP® Business All-in-One solutions to better manage financial and reporting processes, increase efficiency and reduce costs as the company continues to grow its business. Cargojet is also leveraging Best-Run Now packages from SAP (see “SAP Helps Customers Weather Economic Cycle With Unique Offerings Addressing Most Timely Business Challenges”), which enable companies to quickly address their most pressing business challenges via pre-packaged SAP software and services. IDS Scheer will deliver sales and implementation support for the project.
Cargojet, Canada’s premier cargo airline, provides time-sensitive overnight cargo services to all major city centers across the country. Cargojet has enjoyed significant growth, increasing its freighter fleet and expanding its network by providing value-added services to its customers. As Cargojet continues to develop its business model, it has selected SAP Business All-in-One solutions to address Cargojet’s business and IT needs for the future.
“As Cargojet expands its services into new global markets, we need to establish a solid technology platform and seek partners such as SAP and IDS Scheer that can support our current and future requirements,” says Ajay K. Virmani, president and CEO, Cargojet. “Cargojet has selected SAP software as it delivers the functionality and industry best practices we need to optimize financial processes and enhance accounting while reducing our cost of IT ownership.”
Cargojet joins more than 13,500 midsize customers worldwide that use SAP Business All-in-One solutions to maximize their growth potential through comprehensive and integrated functionality to manage all their business processes including accounting, operations, sales and fleet management.
“We’ve seen an increasing number of customers seeking more in-depth and broader functionality out of their business software,” said Jason Mausberg, managing director, IDS Scheer. “SAP Business All-in-One is a perfect fit for Cargojet because it can help manage its entire business, across functions and geographies. Cargojet can also flexibly adapt and extend the solution as its business evolves and grows.”
With powerful analytic reporting capabilities and standard reports for providing enhanced visibility into business performance, SAP Business All-in-One enables midsize companies to take better control of their profitability. The solutions also provide tools and built-in support to help customers comply with regulatory requirements, as well as enhanced transparency for regulatory checks and audits by allowing them to build controls and checks into their business processes.
“Fast-growing companies such as Cargojet that are expanding to international markets need solutions that can help them further tighten business control, identify and leverage growth opportunities and respond quickly as business dynamics change,” says Conrad Mandala, vice president, SME, SAP Canada. “With the Best-Run Now packages, SAP helps customers to quickly acquire solutions that address pressing business needs and deliver benefits quickly, which is especially crucial in tight economic times.”
Cargojet is expected to go live with SAP Business All-in-One after approximately six months implementation time.
