Ajay Virmani Speaks to MBA’s at the Sauder School of Business October 23, 2006 Cargojet Income Fund (the "Fund") (TSX: CJT.UN) On October 18, students in the Sauder School of Business 2006 MBA program were captivated by a presentation from one of Canada’s leading business figures, Ajay Virmani, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cargojet, Canada’s Cargo Airline. Starting on Monday, September 11, with a presentation from British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell, followed by a presentation from Jimmy Pattison; President and CEO of the Pattison Group the award-winning MBA Core curriculum invited leading business visionaries to the classroom. “What we are trying to do is to teach the students about the integrated nature of business,” said Steve Alisharan, Chair of the MBA Core Program at Sauder School of Business, adding that the line up of speakers underscores “the importance of diversity, and the strengths of having a diverse workforce.” “Ajay Virmani reflects the very essence of what we try to convey to our MBA students, actually all students for that matter; a sense of inquisitiveness, commitment, determination, respect for others and teamwork. His entire talk was an illustration of a life journey, which included each of his personal philosophies; in short, 'he walks the talk'. He made a huge impression on the students as well as faculty for his easy manner, his very human approach and story and his sense of vision. Entrepreneurs are not born but are made, self-made with a lot of effort. The students did not see Ajay as lecturing to them rather as having a conversation with them, it was a horizontal relationship not vertical and that reflects his philosophy and his view of people. Ajay and Cargojet have made a lasting impression on all of the core MBA (2006) students and the faculty. They very much admire him for all he has done and how he has done it,” said Professor David Gillen, Sauder School of Business. “I was honoured to be invited to speak before an exceptional group of individuals who will be Canada’s future business leaders. Being back in a university setting was refreshing and having an opportunity to share my life experiences and philosophies was personally rewarding. I sincerely hope that I contributed to the learning experience of these students,” said Ajay Virmani an MBA himself. The Integrated Core -- an intensive 13-week foundation in finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, statistics, managerial economics, and information systems -- is at the heart of the Sauder School of Business MBA program. The Integrated Core is team-taught as one comprehensive course reflecting the inherent complexity of the business environment. Subject areas are taught individually, as well as from an integrated perspective, developing the students' understanding of the true multi-dimensional nature of business.
